A Beginner’s Guide to: BRX

Welcome to Broad Ripple Fit Club! We could not be more thrilled that you’ve decided to join us and make us a part of your journey to a healthier you. As you may have noticed, BRFC is comprised of three, different fitness programs: CrossFit, BRX, and Olympic Weightlifting, but we’re going to focus on our BRX program (this is the BRX blog, after all!).

What is BRX?

BRX is a program based on the latest research in exercise and health and has put the most important exercise components into the perfect workout. We program a different workout every day within a 50-minute fast paced classes. We guarantee that not only will you get in awesome shape, but the atmosphere of our world-class facility and incredible members will energize and inspire you.

BRX classes are broken down into three different parts:

Build. 

Strengthening exercises build lean muscle, stronger bones, and keep burning calories even after the workout ends.

 

Burn. 

High-intensity intervals burn fat better than anything else. We use whole-body activating exercises to get your heart pounding and turbo-charge your metabolism.

Breathe. 

Open your lungs and calm your mind. Regular moderate cardio strengthens your heart, improves your health, and keeps you energized. Mindful movement focuses you, improves your mobility, and gets you charged and ready to conquer the rest of your day.

 

 

What if I’m new to high intensity interval training-style workouts?

BRX is an entirely coach-led class. This means all you have to do is show up and the rest is set for you! Coaches walk you through a warm up, demonstrate each movement and assist class members with their technique both before and during workouts to ensure your safety and that you are getting the best workout for your ability.

Every movement that we do in BRX can be scaled for ability level. That means it doesn’t matter if it is your very first time touching a dumbbell, swinging a kettle bell, or doing a push up. Coaches help you choose the best variation of the movement so that you feel comfortable and confident during the workout.
